Kasargode
The last formed district of Kerala is Kasargode. The northernmost district of Kerala and is famous for its coir and handloom industries. The important crops in the hilly areas include rubber, cashew and ginger. This is situated on the sea coast with the Western Ghats its east and northern borders. Central Plantations Crops Research Institute is situated in Kasargode district. Other towns are Nileswaram, Kanhangad, Cheruvathur, Manjeswaram, Thrikkaripur etc.

BEKAL:16KM south NH, the beautiful beach and the Bekal fort, over hanging the sea covering over 100acres of land, is the largest fort in Kerala, built in 17century.Many caves and under ground pathways with in the fort and remands of palaces are evidence of ancient historical importance.
KANHANGAD: This is also known as 'Hos Durg', houses the Madiyan Kulam temple dedicated to Bhadrakali. Khanhanad is well known on account of the Nithyanandashram, an International Spiritual centre.
NELEESWARAM: It is recognized as the cultural centre of Kasaragode district. There are several 'Kavus', where nature, God and Man commune in serene silence. The Mannampurathu Kavu is the most important. The town is famous for a Yoga centre for decades.
